These golden blondies are studded with toasty pecans and are the perfect autumnal treat, like a warm hug on a cool fall evening. (Though you may just want to make them year round!) Rich notes of maple are laced with the cozy and familiar flavors of sugar, spice, and everything nice. Pair these with a venti PSL to really amp up some festive flair.

Spiced Maple Pecan Blondies

All of the warm flavors of fall are baked into these sweet and decadent bars.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 heaping cup pecans, chopped, divided

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add flour, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves and baking powder. Whisk to combine.
  • In a separate bowl, melt one stick of unsalted butter. Let cool slightly (so the egg doesn’t scramble). Add the brown sugar, maple syrup, egg and vanilla extract. Whisk to fully combine.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Stir to combine.
  • Take half the of the chopped pecans and fold them into the batter.
  • Pour the batter into a greased 8″ x 8″ baking pan. Top with the remaining pecans.
  • Bake for 30 – 35 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the blondies comes out clean and the edges are golden brown.
  • Cool before slicing and serving.
