Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large mixing bowl, add flour, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves and baking powder. Whisk to combine.
In a separate bowl, melt one stick of unsalted butter. Let cool slightly (so the egg doesn't scramble). Add the brown sugar, maple syrup, egg and vanilla extract. Whisk to fully combine.
Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Stir to combine.
Take half the of the chopped pecans and fold them into the batter.
Pour the batter into a greased 8" x 8" baking pan. Top with the remaining pecans.
Bake for 30 - 35 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the blondies comes out clean and the edges are golden brown.
Cool before slicing and serving.
